HOMETOWN : Strängnäs, SWEDEN
Sweden has always been a hotbed for hardcore punkrock with the likes of Bombshell Rocks, The Hives & Voice of a Generation, and DA SKYWALKERS emerged from the small town of Strängnäs, west of Stockholm more than ready to join their ranks.
Hooking up with Household Name Records after emailing a random music file we jumped at the chance to release the guys debut album'Smalltown Saviours'(2002). The album, produced by Mattias from Millencolin, is a stunning update of the classic streetpunk style and as soon as the intro fades out & the guitars come blasting through the speakers you'll hear how special this album really is.
Following up the album with UK tours with FIVE KNUCKLE that summer brought them to the attention of a UK audience that them to their hearts, but didn't always manage to make it to the show.
After more touring and a second album 'End of a Chapter..Start of a New'(2003) hit the racks with even more in your face street anthems. Time was creeping on and after 8 years lead singer Linus left the band in later 2003 with former merch guy Mike stepping up on vocals. The next year saw more changes as Linus was followed by the unique character of guitarist/vocalist Tommy Gustaffsen.
In 2004 the band announced their last album (now with Simon on guitar) 'Heartaches and Scars' (2005) and final tour of the UK.
DA SKYWALKERS played their final show in their hometown of Strängnäs in September 2005
